Westwood Baptist Church Newsletter

| Words from the "Interim"...
What a joy to witness a church who loves and nurtures children in the many ways you do here at Westwood. Children’s Worship on May 18th is one example of the support you provide through the children’s ministry. My thanks to the leadership in each area of this ministry and the wonderful way these children led us in worship. The annual Church Picnic at the Apex Community Park was special in every way. Thanks for preparing all the goooood food! Thanks to the committee in setting up the shelter area for us to partake of and enjoy the finest cooking to be found anywhere. This event enabled me and my family the opportunity to get to know more of you in an informal setting. The Bazemore’s enjoyed the picnic very much. I hope you and your family will be committed to the church during these summer months. Churches everywhere experience the “summer” slump but I do not expect this to happen at Westwood. I look forward to being with you and I hope you will be present. You have such
an opportunity to reach families in close proximity of the church.
I am amazed at all the housing developments within walking distance.
Will you spend some time this summer cultivating families to become
a part of Westwood Baptist Church? Will you do a neighborhood survey
and find out who is not in church? Will you make that important contact
extending an invitation for others to attend with you? Blessings, |

Wanted! Westwood Needs Your Help In Creating
Westwood Single Adults are sponsoring a cookbook project for our Church. We will be collecting your recipes through August 15. Please click HERE for a form. Boxes will also be located there to collect your recipes.
Don't forget to include those favorite recipes of your parents, family and friends; and fill free to put their names on the form in honor or memory of that person.
We will be taking final orders for the cookbooks thru August 15. They should be printed and back in time for you to give as Christmas gifts to your family, friends and neighbors.
The money raised from this project will be given to Westwood's DROP Fund.
Matthew 5:15 – Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. Let your recipes shine
for all to see, and taste. |
