Music is a vital part of the Westwood Ministry!
The music program provides opportunities for children, youth and adults. Every effort is made to provide a variety of music that complements the message from God's Word.
We offer a blended service that includes enduring hymns, new songs, choruses of praise, worship dramas, dramatic readings, and congregational involvement, all with the purpose of "experiencing God's presence and enjoying His nearness as a community of believers in Christ Jesus." The philosophy of worship is that the "service is the sermon" and every part of the service supports "God's Word for the morning."
A number of gifted musicians assist in our music ministry providing opportunities for children and adults. Special seasonal programs are provided. A drama team provides inspirational skits at worship services. We welcome new people to our drama team and instrumentalists and new voices to our choirs.

Music Notes:
If you're interested in playing, singing or simply enjoying bluegrass music, you are invited to join the Westwood Back Porch String Band. We meet each Sunday evening at the church at 6:30pm. If you can play banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, dulcimer or bass and can play songs composed of G, C and D chords, you could be one of us. If you can sing more or less on key, you could be one of us. If you can play the spoons, the hambone, the washboard, the jug or make some other percussive type noise, you could be one of us.
We play gospel and secular music in the bluegrass style. Our goals are to have fun, enjoy the fellowship of each other, spread the good news of Jesus Christ through our music and act as ambassadors of our great church. Soon we will be performing at various venues around the area. Now is the time to "jump in and hang on."
Come out and join us on Sunday evening. Snacks and sodas will be provided as long as you bring 'em! Hope to see you there!
